Please note that when I work with children/teens who live in two homes, the following applies:
I meet with each parent for a 1:1 session prior to working with your child. The cost of each parent meeting is $200.00. I request your latest court order, if applicable.
Parent participates in the initial sessions with child at the onset of therapy. The purpose is to assess for progress and to encourage clear communication going forward. The first session with child and parent lasts approximately 15-20 minutes, with future sessions lasting 5-10 minutes on average. At the conclusion of meeting with parent, parent leaves the room. Child must have ear phones/buds, and the door is to remain closed for the entirety of the session to promote privacy and confidentiality. After one or two months, we make a mutual decision when/if to taper off parent involvement.
Email is sent to both parents regarding availability of the next scheduled session. While some parents limit their communication to a third party app such as OFW, email is for scheduling only (not regarding legal or clinical issues).
I am your child’s therapist and therefore, do not advise on co-parenting issues.
I do not report to family court, offer custody evaluation, nor write letters regarding your child’s counseling intervention.
I cannot speak to anyone about your child without written authorization for release of information, signed by both parents.
Payment of $200.00 is due prior to the beginning of each session via online payment option.
All psychotherapy sessions occur via telehealth (Zoom platform).
